City Museum

The City Museum conveys the histories of Hollstedt, the City of Hamburg, and of the entire northern German cultural space.
The Museum exhibits traditional furnishings of the past decades as well as artwork from various historical periods.

Villa Carl - Historic Mansion
Villa Carl
Set in the heart of Hollstedt, this beautiful art nouveau villa built in 1902 by Hamburg Businessman Willhelm Roders served initially as the owner’s personal weekend home. Roders named the building after the well-known German mathematician Garl Gauß, from whom he claims to have learned a great deal and to whom he attributes his success in life.
Following Roder’s death in 1953, the estate and its sizable art collection went into the possession of the Township of Hollstedt according to the wishes of the owner.
Shortly after, the township transformed the building into an art gallery which was soon became popular among art lovers and tourists of the area.
